Arrows tarihinde üretilen 4. araç olan A2, 1979 yılında Dave Wass tarafından tasarlandı. Aracın teknik direktörü ise Tony Southgate’di.
Yakıt ve yağ olarak Fina’yı tercih eden Arrows, Ford Cosworth’ün ürettiği DFV model V8 motora sahipti.
